The Telangana High Court has cancelled the Group-1 Mains General Ranking List and The court directed the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TGPSC) to re-evaluate all answer sheets and, if that is not possible, to conduct the Mains exam once again.
Several candidates filed petitions alleging irregularities in evaluation, such as major differences in marks after re-evaluation, mistakes in assigning evaluators, and issues with Telugu answer scripts being corrected by non-Telugu examiners.
Some aspirants also highlighted technical lapses, including multiple hall tickets and inconsistencies across exam centres.
Court’s Order
- The High Court said the current ranking list cannot be considered valid.
- TGPSC has been asked to ensure fairness and transparency by either re-checking all papers or holding a fresh exam.
- Until then, no appointments can be made under the present list.
- The appointment process is now on hold, and no recruitment letters can be issued until re-evaluation or a fresh exam is completed.
Thousands of aspirants who cleared the earlier stages are now left waiting for the Commission’s next move.

TGPSC must soon announce whether it will go for re-evaluation or schedule a new exam.
